Our island may seem small.
The natural activities that it can offer are vastly more appealing than those you might find in a larger urban center. This is why when the time comes for you to visit you won’t know what to pack first in your luggage!
Walking shoes or fishing provisions?
A camera with all its lenses or the spear gun with mask and swimming fins?
Donousa has a special quality – all the villages throughout the island are connected by footpaths. If you are an avid walker, this is a place for you! Indeed, there is no better way to get to know a place than by walking it.
Some worthwhile paths are the following:
Stavros – Haravgi
Distance approximately 4.5km to the hamlet of Haravgi known for its traditional stone houses.
Haravgi – Mersini
Distance approximately 1.5km.
Stavros – Kalotaritissa
Follow the path that crosses Mount Papas and ends at Kalotaritissa on the northern side of Donousa.
Spearfishing, fishing rods or makeshift fishing lines! If you are a fishing enthusiast you can practice your hobby until you’ve had your fill.
The surrounding waters around Donousa have outstanding fishing spots and even if you don’t have your own boat, there is always a boat service available to take you wherever you wish to go.
